Protective kart clothing primarily offers impact and abrasion resistance and unlike motorsport racewear, does not need to be fireproof. Amateurs and “arrive and drive” karters will likely find a single layer suit or indoor overalls are sufficient. However, more proficient drivers or someone competing in kart racing will need kart wear that meets CIK and FIA standards.
